Kidney Awareness Risk Evaluation
Kidney Awareness Risk Evaluation (KARE) program is a free health screening that seeks to identify individuals at increased risk for kidney disease and encourage them to seek further evaluation and follow up with their physicians.
Through KARE the Tennessee Kidney Foundation hopes to educate individuals about the risk factors for developing kidney disease, the importance of early detection, early intervention, and the prevention of complications of hypertension and diabetes.
The following tests are conducted at a KARE Screening:
. Blood Pressure Measurement
Height and weight measurements
Urine dipstick test for albumin-creatinine ratio |
|
At the end of the screening participants are given an opportunity to sit down and discuss their results and health questions with a clinician.
